8 of the best Caribbean/Rum based cocktails

If you are Caribbean or if just like Caribbean stuff, you'll definitely love these cocktails to turn up the heat to your night, evening, party, dinner or overall sipping experience.

1.) Bahama Mama

Some say this has originated in the Bahamas (my Grandfather's home country), but I really dunno. However, it is great tasting and very nice looking.

Recipe
1 1/2 oz. Coconut Rum
1 1/2 oz. White Rum
1 1/2 oz. Dark Rum
2 oz. Sour Mix
2 1/2 oz. Orange Juice
2 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 dash Grenadine




2.) Mai Tai

I love to drinking these after a nice bowl of Pho. It's definitely some good stuff.

Recipe
2oz Dark Rum
1/2oz Orange Curacao
1/2oz Orgeat Syrup
1/4oz Trader Vic's Rock Candy Syrup
1/2oz Fresh Lime Juice



3.) Pina Colada

Excellent, excellent drink. Perfect beach drink, perfect boat drink. Perfect drink for the ladies! The boricuas and cubanos knew exactly what they were doing with this drink! LOL.

Recipe
1 1/2oz White Rum
1 1/2oz Cream of Coconut
1 1/2oz Pineapple Juice
Slice of Pineapple



4.) Blue Hawaii

Basically, a Pina Colada with a Twist! Normally, these are made with Coconut Rum but add in the Creme of Coconut and you get a ton more flavor!

Recipe
1 oz blue curaƧao
1 oz light rum
1 oz cream of coconut
2 oz pineapple juice



5.) Yellow Bird Cocktail

Another cocktail perfect for the ladies.

Recipe
1.5 oz. Light Rum
1.5 oz. Galliano
3/4 oz. Creme de Bananas
Top with equal parts Pineapple Juice and Orange Juice






6.) Mojito

The classic Cuban cocktail mixing lime, sugar, mint, and rum.

Recipe
1/2 Lime
12 Mint Leaves
1 oz Simple Syrup
1 1/2oz White Rum
Top with Soda Water

7.) Cuba Libre

A good mix between Caribbean and the states.

Recipe
1.5 oz white rum
Lime Juice
Splash of Coke



8.) Daiquiri

Such a classic hit. So many variations. So many different tastes.

Recipe
2oz White Rum
2cups Strawberries
1oz Simple Syrup
1/2oz Grenadine
