Sommelier Tries Every Costco Liquor | World of Wine | (Bon Appétit)

 Now, this is a pretty cool video. I remember like over a decade ago my family would get the Costco vodka. The rumor was that it was like store-brand version of Grey Goose. However, it was not half bad. It was pretty smooth for the price point and it was nearly identical in a libation. Here Andre, the Sommelier, is actually doing a taste test (neat at that) of all the Costco-based spirits. Check it out:

 I haven't had Cachaca in quite some time. It's still a bit expensive to get here in the states, even more of the bottom grade stuff. However, I'm trying to get some quality stuff just since the weather is getting nice. Anyway, peep some of the amazing libations below:

Cameron's Kick cocktail recipe (Steve the Bartender)

 Now, this is pretty interesting. I've never seen a split between Scotch whisky and Irish whiskey in one drink before. I actually want to try this one day and see how it pairs up.

 With the weather starting to warm up, people are looking to have a good time and enjoy a great libation. Social gatherings, parties, and picturesque views in the background all just give this element of leisure. What better than to have the perfect cocktail in hand to set things off, right?

 I love libations with a bit of history and flair to them. This is a simple drink, but the ingredients are top-notch and it helps that there's some reference to yesteryear. I'd def drink this on a rainy day here.

It's funny how this is actually not Spanish recipe, per se, but it does have influence from Spanish (look up the Carajillo). Still an absolutely amazing libation with some incredible ingredients.

The Lonely Penguin (Anders Erickson)

This looks exquisite. I love the ingredients, the color and the general presentation.

Recipe

1.5 oz. (45 ml) Rittenhouse 100 proof Rye Whiskey 1/2 oz. (15 ml) Combier Crème de Mûre 3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) cream of coconut* 3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) fresh lemon juice 1/4 oz. (7.5 ml) semi-rich simple syrup (1.5:1 sugar:water) 2 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters 2 cocktail cherries (eyes), orange wedge (beak), 2 pineapple fronds (flippers), & cocktail umbrella for garnish (arranged to look like a penguin)

 This looks really good. Whiskey and coffee go together like peanut butter and jelly.
