Pick the Right Spot at Hollywood Events for Your Upcoming Wedding

Planning a day of Holy Matrimony can be quite stressful. You have to get the right list out to the people. The ceremony and reception have to be set on a day and time where everyone can go. Despite all of the work, this is a special day for you and your spouse. At the end of the day, it's well worth all of the hassle to make sure that it's the perfect setup to take the next journey in life.

An affordable party venue to check out would be Hollywood Events. If convenience is your key to a good time, then this is certainly the type of place you want to explore. First of all, it's great for the family due to the venue being 20 minutes from Fort Lauderdale International Airport. This will make it an easy drive. For people that need a place to stay, they can do so in the Hollywood Beach Resort Hotel, located in Hollywood, Florida. This is a plus, because they can get ready right inside the hotel and go directly outside for the reception. After booking the venue, the bride and groom can get 30% off rooms/suites for their guests that stay in the hotel as an additional perk.

The hotel is right next to the beach, which would make for either a great formal or casual wedding ceremony. It'll provide the perfect backdrop for something more scenic and romantic. Once the ceremony is over, everyone can head inside to enjoy the best wedding venue for family and friends. Everything is taken care from the coordinator, clean-up, and security. It'll make the event run a lot smoother. Not to mention, there are laser lights, projection screens, and a 60" TV. This would be a nice setup for a DJ to do some video mixing to add more visual effects to keep the party live! Whether you want something more elegant or tend to go for a fun atmosphere, this venue will help you create long-lasting memories.

A Great Cocktail Session Using SoFlo Studio

When it comes to creating the perfect video, SoFlo Studio can't be beat. My friends and I did a day shoot for a particular set of cocktails they wanted to feature for their Labor Day weekend special. It's safe to say that the service was simply top-notch. We came in there without any idea of what cameras were available, but wanted some specific shots for the way the video setups were going look like at the end.

First of all, they had a full-on video production studio to help set up the perfect place for making the different Labor Day weekend libations. We decided to make the film studio rental for about 3 hours. This way, we had some time to get at least a few cocktails done and still have some time to edit. We decided to go with a padded room set to help get some nice green screen in the background to introduce the video with our logo. Afterwards, we used he actual hotel lobby set with our own kind of bar look to help make it look classy.

Overall, I must say it was well worth the effort. They are very professional and have a good set of choices available to shoot action sequences for an independent film or just create a good video for a YouTube channel. We're definitely looking forward to working with them in the future!

Interesting Ingredients for Imaginative Cocktails

There is a fine line between a cocktail and a magic potion. Some ingredients definitely don’t belong in a cocktail whereas others are essential. You could stick to tried and tested recipes for Sex on the Beach, mojito, or strawberry daiquiri, but sometimes, you need to up your game and try something different.

Royalty Free Photo

Here are some really quirky ingredients that will add the ‘wow’ factor to your next cocktail party.

Bacon

Bacon is more versatile than you think. Sure, it tastes amazing drizzled with maple syrup and piled on top of a stack of American pancakes, but did you know that you can also add bacon to your cocktails? Obviously, this one won’t work if your guests are vegetarians, but if not, fry up bacon and then add 1 tbsp of pan fat to a bottle of vodka. This will infuse the vodka with a subtle bacon flavor . Before using the vodka, pop it in the freezer for half an hour and then strain it through a coffee filter to remove the fat particles.

Mix your bacon vodka with cider, maple syrup, and a dash of bitters. Garnish with a slice of crispy bacon.

Matcha Tea

Matcha tea cocktails are tasty. Green matcha tea goes amazingly well with gin, so make gin the focus of your matcha cocktail matcha cocktail recipe. Throw some of your favorite brand of gin in a cocktail shaker and mix it up with matcha powder, mint, lime juice, and agave for a refreshing summer cocktail. It is the perfect drink for a late afternoon brunch.

Beetroot

Beetroot is a beautiful vivid crimson color, so any cocktails containing beetroot juice will look amazing. Beet juice goes well with gin, but if you are feeling adventurous, try mixing it with whiskey. Beetroot has a distinct flavor, but a good quality Scotch whiskey more than holds its own when paired with beetroot, and it gives the cocktail real depth.

Blend whiskey with beetroot juice, lemon juice, and some honey to taste. Garnish with fresh tarragon.

Kale

Kale is something we all need to eat more of, but unless you are on a serious health kick, you might give kale a miss. Kale packs a lot of punch and adds a verdant green hue when added to a drink. Use a juicer to extract liquid from kale, and then mix it with gin, cucumber, and a dash of lime. It is a lovely refreshing drink for a hot summer’s day.

Pine Needle Syrup

Pine needles are very reminiscent of Christmas. They also contain ten times more vitamin C than a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. If you want to make a festive cocktail, mix some pine syrup with gin or vodka and add a touch of lemon and lime juice. Garnish with fresh cranberries for extra flavor and seasonal spice.

Other interesting ingredients include spiced butternut squash mixed with bourbon and figs, and for a more refreshing drink, mix eucalyptus syrup with gin, egg, and a dash of lime.

Wu-Tang Clan Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Wu-Tang Vodka

The past few years have seen a lot of 20-25 year anniversaries. It just goes to show that the longevity of Hip-Hop is becoming more of a mainstay than a far cry from the typical "here today, gone tomorrow" mentality of yesteryear.

Here is a flyer of the upcoming launch of the product in Australia.

Along with the vodka launch, they have a number of flavored liqueurs already available, which include strawberry lime, butterscotch, and C.R.E.A.M (named after one of their early breakout songs). The vodka will certain have a higher price point due to the exclusivity and super premium taste to the vodka. There's no telling if this will hit stateside just yet.

A Great Evening Out at La Gringa Mexican Bar and Grill in Queens

On a whim, my friends and I decided to go this Mexican spot on Woodhaven Blvd. It was the day after St. Paddy’s Day. Funny enough, they had just received the liquor license in time for those festivities. Of course, I was tired of Irish Car Bombs. However, it was great when I saw they had a free margarita when you dined-in on either St. Patrick’s Day or that Sunday. It was perfect. I’ll have to try one of their mezcals another time, but I'm impressed it's not your typical run of the mill Mexican restaurants.

For lunch, I decided to go with the chicken burrito entree. The rice was very tasty and flavorful, the black beans were cooked just right (not too mushy but still kept true to form), and the chicken was nice, juicy, and not too salty. I love the cozy atmosphere of this place. It feels like the kind of place where you just want to kick back and enjoy some good food before you get your evening underway. It certainly made my day start off right with a very fulfilling meal.

If you're looking for a more authentic Mexican restaurant with good food, tequila, and mezcal in Queens, take a look at La Gringa Bar and Grill.

Dancing the Night Away at Woodhaven Party Hall

Recently, I went to my friend, James, birthday in Queens. He decided to have somewhat of an intimate setting of people at a spot called Woodhaven Party Hall. I’ve been to a number of party hall events, but this one had top-notch service. First of all, It was very convenient to get to the venue, because I could literally Uber or take a cab from LaGuardia airport and arrive within 20 minutes.

When I got to the venue, everything from the decor of the room, the staff, and even the speaker setup for the DJ was perfection. They were truly organized from the start to finish. Additionally, they comfortably fit 50 people in one of their halls. The food was hot and ready to serve (you can't go wrong with red potatoes and a good ribeye steak). The bartenders even had specialty drinks created just for the event. Shoutout to the bartender for the tasty Moscow Mule. That added a unique touch and made it a night to remember by keeping the dance floor packed.

I would highly recommend this service to anyone planning an event. If you want a great venue without breaking the bank, call up Woodhaven Party Hall to help you get the ball rolling.

What Are Cocktail Bitters? Using Bitters in Cocktails - Lesson 3 (Common Man Cocktails)

This is a great lesson. A lot of time people focus on juice or garnishes, but don't know the key to what makes bitters such an important thing. He makes a great comparison in his description in regards to having a hamburger with the salt and pepper. Sure, you can have a cocktail without the bitters, but that added potency and balance just enhances it to a taste where you really get the most out of your drink. Good stuff here. Enjoy

Jeezy Sells Remaining Stake in Avión Tequila to Pernod Ricard

You may remember that this brand started getting it's first national placement in the highly successful HBO show, "Entourage," back in 2010-2011. Jerry Ferrara's character, Turtle, was hustling it in his truck to different events and liquor stores.

However, it wasn't until the multi-platinum rap artist, Jeezy, became a brand ambassador in 2013, that this company really start seeing a major international play. Recently, Jeezy sold off his last equity stake in Avion to multi-billion dollar global spirits brand, Pernod Ricard.

Even though, he's sold his stake, he still remains highly involved in the evolution of the brand until at least 2020. Jeezy says the move with Pernod Ricard USA, "will allow us to continue to grow the brand on the worldwide stage."

From his early days of trapping to a meteoric rise as a rap star and businessman, he has shown longevity with his latest role as a growing mogul. You have to give props where they are due.

Besides, Avion definitely makes for a nice and chill shot on a relaxing evening or night on the town. Salute to Jeezy.
