A Great Evening Out at La Gringa Mexican Bar and Grill in Queens

On a whim, my friends and I decided to go this Mexican spot on Woodhaven Blvd. It was the day after St. Paddy’s Day. Funny enough, they had just received the liquor license in time for those festivities. Of course, I was tired of Irish Car Bombs. However, it was great when I saw they had a free margarita when you dined-in on either St. Patrick’s Day or that Sunday. It was perfect. I’ll have to try one of their mezcals another time, but I'm impressed it's not your typical run of the mill Mexican restaurants.

For lunch, I decided to go with the chicken burrito entree. The rice was very tasty and flavorful, the black beans were cooked just right (not too mushy but still kept true to form), and the chicken was nice, juicy, and not too salty. I love the cozy atmosphere of this place. It feels like the kind of place where you just want to kick back and enjoy some good food before you get your evening underway. It certainly made my day start off right with a very fulfilling meal.

If you're looking for a more authentic Mexican restaurant with good food, tequila, and mezcal in Queens, take a look at La Gringa Bar and Grill.

Hennessy Black and Vanilla Syrup? What?!

Yes. You read that correctly. I was at a friend's spot on Friday. She had some Hennessy Black and I knew it had darker elements, so I automatically saw the Torani Vanilla Syrup. I thought, "hey, why not?" It turned out phenomenal. I wish I took a pic of it, but I can still give you the right measurements.

Recipe
1 1/2 oz Hennessy Black
1/2 oz Torani Vanilla Syrup

Dancing the Night Away at Woodhaven Party Hall

Recently, I went to my friend, James, birthday in Queens. He decided to have somewhat of an intimate setting of people at a spot called Woodhaven Party Hall. I’ve been to a number of party hall events, but this one had top-notch service. First of all, It was very convenient to get to the venue, because I could literally Uber or take a cab from LaGuardia airport and arrive within 20 minutes.

When I got to the venue, everything from the decor of the room, the staff, and even the speaker setup for the DJ was perfection. They were truly organized from the start to finish. Additionally, they comfortably fit 50 people in one of their halls. The food was hot and ready to serve (you can't go wrong with red potatoes and a good ribeye steak). The bartenders even had specialty drinks created just for the event. Shoutout to the bartender for the tasty Moscow Mule. That added a unique touch and made it a night to remember by keeping the dance floor packed.

I would highly recommend this service to anyone planning an event. If you want a great venue without breaking the bank, call up Woodhaven Party Hall to help you get the ball rolling.
