What's your drink for the weekend?

My friend's b-day kicks off tomorrow, but we are going to do a Trifecta of sorts. It should pretty dayum, serious. I just copped a bottle of Ciroc Coconut, and I have these juices I mixed together a while ago into one batch...so we are probably doing shots then getting it in with a chaser. It should be some really good stuff!

My question is: what are you sipping for the weekend?

A Game of Thrones Cocktail via Tipsy Bartender

This is a pretty interesting mix with the Jalapenos and the Bourbon. I can only imagine the hotness, spice, and sour of the lime all rolled into one. According to Wikipedia, Game of Thrones is a really popular series on Cable TV based off "A Song of Ice and Fire series, and author Martin has stated that the show's pilot script was very faithful to his work. Set in the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, Game of Thrones chronicles the violent dynastic struggles among the kingdom's noble families for control of the Iron Throne; as the series opens, additional threats from the snow and ice covered region north of Westeros and from the eastern continent across a narrow sea are simultaneously beginning to rise."

The new season is slated to start on April 1, 2012. Here's the break down of the cocktail.

1½ parts Basil Hayden's bourbon
¾ parts fresh lime juice
1 slice jalapeno
1 part pomegranate juice
½ part simple syrup
Splash of soda water

1. Muddle lime juice, jalapeno, pomegranate juice and simple syrup in a mixing tin.

2. Add bourbon and shake lightly for five seconds.

3. Strain into a Collins glass, add ice and top with soda water.

4. Garnish with a lime wheel and pomegranate seeds.

I agree with Skyy John being it a once in a while drink. I mean, it's not an everyday drink, but experiment with and see if you like it. This could be a good drink for people with more exotic tastes. Check out the video below:

Minecraft Cocktail (The Dirt Block) via TipsyBartender

This is what I call an excellent dessert cocktail. The Drunken Moogle comes up with some really unique yet excellent tasting video game cocktails. This is no exception at all. When you have Oreos and Kahlua together, you are bound to make some magic happen! LOLOL.

Here's the recipe:
=======
1 1/2 oz french vanilla kahlua
1 1/2 oz amaretto
3 oz chocolate milk
Oreo cookie crumbs

As you can see this is a pretty impeccable mix of chocolate. I honestly wouldn't drink this on a night on the town, but probably a party or an alternative to a crazy dessert on a special day. For more, video game cocktails you can check out my blog Playstation 3 Game Console Review for a Modern Warfare 3, Uncharted 3, and Street Fighter x Tekken cocktail. ENJOY!

RIP Don Julio

I'm a bit late on this, but RIP to Don Julio. A guy that made some excellent tequila that's more like a fine scotch. I've gotten into tequila, and there are a lot out there. But I think Don Julio reigns supreme. Here are a few recipes using Don Julio:

Guy drunk in a convenience store (Hilarious)

I know this is super old, but it's still extremely hilarious to watch. Word to the wise, if the world literally feels like it's going in a circular motion and each step you take feels like you are going to fall off the planet, just sit down or lay down and don't get up for a few hours. LOLOLOL. Don't do what this fool does! HAHAHAA!

How to Make an Irish Car Bomb and SUPER IRISH CAR BOMB!

This is a rather special cocktail made famous due to a number of reasons. What's crazy about this cocktail is you have to drink it really fast or else it'll curdle and ruin the drink a bit. It's almost like putting out a fire, but you put out a drink and get twisted. Below, I'll start with the Tipsy Bartender making the drink, and then I'll post some other people making and drinking the cocktail! Enjoy! Sure to be some spectacular stuff =P.

Recipe for Irish Car Bomb
1/2 shot Jameson Irish Whiskey
1/2 shot Baileys Irish Cream (you can substitute for Cole Swan Irish Cream).
1/2 pint Guinness Irish Stout

Check below after the two videos for the Super Irish Car Bomb!

Now this is what you call a nuclear warhead right here. Forget car bomb. Take the original recipe and twist it like this:

Two pints Guinness
Three shots Irish whiskey
Three shots Irish cream

Irish Depth Charge cocktail via Tipsy Bartender.

To be honest, I don't know if I'd drink this because I'm not really liking this mix, but it would be an interesting double shot to try for a person that loves everything Irish! LOLOL. I wonder what St. Patrick's Day is going to look like this year. This looks like a completely spaced out, futuristic shot that aliens will take. Pretty awesome looking if I do say so myself. Be forewarned, SIP SLOWLY!!!

The recipe calls for:

2 shots of Vodka
Guinness
Bass

Sunny D and Rum? WHY NOT?!

Wow, whoever thought these two would go together. I guess Ralfy did. Now, the
interesting thing about this particular character is that he's mainly a whiskey,
bourbon, scotch kind of person. Who knew this cat would be into sipping a sort of sweet, juice based cocktail like this one. Immediately, I had to pay attention. Now, the type of rum he uses is a premium rum by the same people that make Appleton. It's Wray and Nephew's own overproof white rum. This is at a proof level of 125%. So, it's a PRETTY POTENT COCKTAIL! Check it out for yourself!

This is what happens when your parents know you too well

LOL. So, after a night of having some birthday fun with some friends (like 4 or 5 everclear jello shots) and a bit of rum. I'm pretty buzzed for the night...so, as I'm making my recovery today, and getting some blog work done..this is what my moms calls my phone to tell me she gets me:

^Yes, two miniature bottles of Coconut Ciroc. Wow! As you can probably guess from a lot of my posts, I'm a huge Ciroc fan. It's my absolute favorite vodka. And I've had quite a few vodkas from the low, mid range, premium to ultra premiums. This is my top (EASILY).

On top of that, this is my favorite flavor of Ciroc, which is crazy. So, that's wuz up. I'm probably gonna save this for a good party or something. We shall see =).

Speaking of Coconut Ciroc, have you tried the cocoloso yet? What's that might you ask? Well, it's simple 1 1/2 oz of Coconut Ciroc and like 2-3 ounces of Pineapple Juice. It's a very simple, but very good mix. GREAT FLAVOR, and it gets the job done for a party.

Check out this video of Diddy, Fab, and Red Cafe getting twisted off Cocoloso:

The Joseph Kony Cocktail via Tipsy Bartender

Good morning, people! Wow, I am up early as hell posting! LOLOLOL. At any rate, just wanted to post this up because I think this is a rather significant issue. As we all know, Africa as a whole has not been the most stable continent. There's always some kind of stress from a political, war or social issue. It's always good to be aware of political stuff when it counts. These types of things shouldn't really surprise you as there are other countries with even more severe issues than this. The point is to remember that the world is never perfect, and we should always give when we can. Basically, if you haven't figured it out by now, there's a viral video posted from the Invisible Children called Kony 2012. Joseph Kony is a dictator out of Uganda that's been doing some really horrible things with an organization called the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA).

There's a lot of speculation that this movement might be a bit of a fraud now, or the money donated is making a governing body or some people rich. However, it's always good to stay abreasted to the situation. I mean, this is for real. No matter how you slice it, a lot of these people are under tremendous turmoil by a group that has total disregard for the peoples' well being. Now, we shall get into the cocktail:

1oz Skyy Citrus Vodka
1oz Ciroc Peach
1 1/2oz Pineapple Juice
1 1/2oz Cranberry Juice

Shoutout to Sky John for coming up with something a little creative and political without being to preachy. Big ups to the Tipsy Bartender himself! For those that don't know what this movement is about, check out the video below the actual drink vid. Thanks! Peace!

OH! BEFORE I FORGET, check out this movie called "Bouncing Cats". This is from a while ago, but Crazy Legs and Y-Not from the Rock Steady Crew basically spread Hip-Hop love in Uganda. It's just to show we've been about this thing for quite sometime. Peep the trailer below:

Man spends over 125,000 euros on a bottle of Ace of Spades!

Wow, talk about big ballin status. I thought Lebron's tab at a strip club was serious. That pales in comparison to this one. Over 203,948 euros was spent...thats over 266,000 USD!!! HOLY MOLY!!! I mean, look at the type of drinks that were served. The cheapest thing there was a 4.5L of Grey Goose, and even that came to 4,000 euros. Man, that's INSANE!!!! Shoutout to Roc 4 Life for the find.

The Mixer and the Sipper - Appleton Rum

Obviously, one of these bottles just recently got done, but I want to get into a good blog about mixing and sipping.

These are two excellent rums that go for a decent price. Now, I know they are the same brand, but they are not the same drink! Why? One is a mixer *a bottle used to mix cocktails*, and one is a sipper *on ice or neat*.

The one with the bigger body is the Appleton VX. These are great to drink on ice or neat. For a stash of bitterness or to counterbalance the great flavors of the Appleton, I like to use a splash of cranberry juice. It's an elegant mix. This kind of rum is like a full body cognac. That's why it's a perfect sipper onto itself.

Now, the Appleton Special Rum is a slightly different case. You could sip it, but it's not really made just to readily sip. It's more so the cocktail kind of rum. I honestly rate it better than Bacardi or other mainstream rums because the flavor is dead on perfect. The smoothness is top notch, and just really looks great with mixing your juices or your carbonated drinks, so you should choose.

I'm going to post a few cocktails or short stints about using Appleton as a sipper or as a mixer, and some other rum based cocktails. Enjoy!

Pharrell Has That Qream On Deck via Karmaloop

Personally, I'm not the kind of person that would drink alcohol under 35% unless it's a wine or something. However, I could see myself using this as a mixer for some ladies...Maybe this and some ciroc or a really great vodka. I think this would taste really good with stronger cocktails to maybe enhance the flavor. This is a great treat for the ladies if they just wanna sip something with a little bit. It currently comes in two flavors: Peach and Strawberry. And for those that are a bit lactose conscience, you'll be fine because a lot of the lactose is taken out. Check out his Karmaloop interview below:

So You Think You Have a Rum Collection?

Um, I'm just really getting into the collecting, vibing, and drinking thing, but this definitely takes the cake. I have never seen a rum collection so illustrious. This is really dope! I'm loving how he's breaking down some of his favorites, his rares, and the different ages as well as where he picked up some of them. I really hope to get to this kind of status soon.

Unfortunately, the embed for this clip is disabled, but click the link, and you can see it for yourself. Check out this guy's Rum Collection here!
