SuperBowl Blue Bulldog Margarita via Tipsy Bartender

Whether you are a Patriots or a Giants fan, you'll be inclined to agree that this drink is an insane one! Personally, I'm going for the Giants. Not only cuz of the fact there are two Latinos, one Afro-Latino (Victor Cruz), but the Giants have a lot of history. Here's how to make the drink:

12oz White Tequila
4oz Blue Curacao
4oz Lime Juice

This looks insanely strong! Jose Cuervo is nothing to laugh over. It's pretty thorough to say the least. Add the Corona in there, and you have a very interesting, tangy drink. Don't knock the color, as it will catch up to you in no time! LOL. Enjoy!

This is what I'm talking about! This looks like the realest Pina Colada I've ever seen!! Real coconut cream, what y'all know about that?! If I ever get another Pina Colada, I need to try this one first just to taste the authenticity!

Here's the recipe from Skyy John:

11/2oz White Rum
11/2oz Cream of Coconut
11/2oz Pineapple Juice
Slice of Pineapple
1/4cup Pineapple

Enjoy!

Girl takes a Modern Warfare 3 Frag Grenade Shot

As you all might have guessed, I'm a huge gamer! This is just a step above the rest! I posted a few days ago on my Playstation blog the recipe to the Frag Grenade Shot and I posted the LA Noire Cocktail (which I might have to try rather soon to be honest).

Here's how to make the three part drink:

SOAP MACTAVISH
1/2oz Green Creme de Menthe
1/2oz Limoncello

JAGERNAUT
1/2oz Baileys
1/2oz Jagermeister

VLADIMIR MAKAROV
1oz Black Vodka
Half fill with Energy Drink

This is crazy, and you will either feel a bugged out feeling in your stomach or you will feel incredibly amped up due to the energy drink. LOLOL. ENJOY!!

The Brazilian

This is a really nice juicy drink (probably the reason why it's called a Brazilian..named after a thick Brazilian woman), that will make the girls go Gaga *no Lady*. It's a very cool, mixed drink with Vodka, Coconut Rum, and Midori - it has a lil bite to it, but the taste is not too crazy. Check out the recipe:

1/2oz Vodka
1/2oz Coconut Rum
1/2oz Midori
1/2oz Peach Schnapps
1/2oz Pineapple Juice
1/2oz Cranberry Juice

How to Make Rumchata

Now, my latina homegirl made some Horchata for me a few times. And I have to say it's a pretty sweet, but very tasty treat! This is not diabetes friendly by any means! LOLOL. It definitely one of the top and most common latin drinks you'll find. It honestly tastes like ice cream but better!Take a peak at my hubpages to get a full of account of what I did to make this special! LOLOL. Here are the ingredients:

1 cup long grain rice, rinsed
2 quarts water
1 cinnamon stick, broken into pieces
1 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
1/2 cup white sugar

Now, here's how to make it! Recipe taken from AllRecipes.com

In a large saucepan, combine rice, water and cinnamon stick. Set aside for 3 hours.
After 3 hours, bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 30 minutes. Allow to cool.
Puree rice mixture in a blender until smooth. Strain through cheesecloth or a fine sieve. Flavor with vanilla and sugar to taste. Chill, and serve over ice.

Now, all you do is add whatever rum you like to use and shake it up! It's very imperative to shake it up every time you drink because a lot of the ingredients seep to the bottom! For the best flavor, shake it up each time you use it so you get the full flavor. Now, here's a batch of horchata and rum below:

Don't mind the ciroc bottle. As you can see, that's a LOT of horchata, so you need all of that rum to get in there!

Seeing as there are no videos on how to exactly make Rumchata, I found a basic video on Horchata. Just add the rum when you feel like it! Enjoy!
Also, if you are lazy like me, you can just purchase Horchata right here and add your rum and guess what! It's LACTOSE AND GLUTEN FREE!!!!

How To Make The American Arrow Cocktail

Honestly, I would not drink this straight up. One of each I can do perfectly fine on the rocks, but not all three! LOLOLOL. Cool name for the drink, though. Check out the simple but potent recipe below:

In a lowball glass
1 oz. Tequila
1 oz. Vodka
1 oz. Whiskey

Pretty basic, right! Not the taste, though! LOLOL.

Oh, and to answer his question about what scotch or whiskey I prefer, I'll definitely have to go with Crown Royal and Johnnie Walker Double Black!

How to make the BEST Strawberry Daiquiri via TipsyBartender

This is something I actually wouldn't be ashamed of drinking just because it has a nice level of alcohol in it!

Pretty much he makes a remix to the original recipe. Instead of pouring the alcohol in first or mixing it in with the actual fruit, he does this first. He mixes all the flavorings such as the strawberries, grenadine, and simple syrup. Then he pours the 1 or 2 of strong rum into the glass. After that, he pours the strawberry mix into the glass, so you get pockets of strong alcohol taste with the daiquiri. It's pretty cool actually! Check out the full recipe and steps;

2oz White Rum
2cups Strawberries
1oz Simple Syrup
1/2oz Grenadine

What you sippin, what you sippin'?

Skyy John (the Tipsy Bartender) just gave me a good idea to post for today. I mean, it's Friday - I don't have much to do. So why the hell not, right? At any rate, he posted up his own lil recipe for a rum cocktail:

Malibu Coconut Rum
Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
Splash of Dole Pineapple Juice

Seeing as I'm being a bit of cheapo (LMAO), I'm keepin it simple with a mid range vodka (Three Olives Regular) and Welch's Grape Juice.

But as you can see, the Coconut Ciroc is my go to for a lot of reasons! LOLOL..Straight up on ice or pineapple juice. It's whatever! Take a look at what Skyy's bring to the table! Enjoy! And let me know what you sippin'?

Daily Rum Ration? I like what I hear!

I'm a big rum lover! RUM RUM RUM! Rum and coke, rum punch, pina colada, it's whatever! Now, the thing I really like about this one is you get a number of different tasting rums whether they are dark, gold, spiced, white rum. They all have a different vibe! This is just like a Long Island Iced Tea in the concept of mixing 3-4 different alcohols and topping it with Coca-Cola, but it's straight up rum. You'll get a nice spicy, sweet kind of caramel taste especially with the Coca-Cola. Check out the recipe below..shoutout to Everyday Drinkers:

1/2 oz. Dark Rum
1/2 oz. White Rum
1/2 oz. Coconut Rum
1/2 oz. Spiced Rum
1/2 oz. Lime Juice
1/4 oz. Maple Syrup
2 oz. Coca Cola

The Mai Tai

I'm loving these classic cocktails, yo. I've been noticing that a lot of em are dark rum based. I'm not mad at that at all, though. LOLOL. For some of the ingredients such as the different syrups, make sure you go online and check if your store. Some manufacturers are actually online, so you can order it there as well. Check it out!

2oz Dark Rum
1/2oz Orange Curacao
1/2oz Orgeat Syrup
1/4oz Trader Vic's Rock Candy Syrup
1/2oz Fresh Lime Juice

Tiger Blood
I definitely co-sign this as I've made a small variation. This was at the height of the Tiger Blood spoof from Charlie Sheen.

It's a very simple recipe:

2 OZ of Cranberry Juice

Ciroc Coconut Mojito

Garnish with fresh mint leaf
A bit of lime juice
Mash the mint with the juice to make it a very interesting flavor
1/2 OZ Simple Syrup

Top if off with coconut shavings and mint leaf

The Bellini

2oz Champagne
3/4oz Peach Puree

Why you should tip your bartender?

Ok, now I have friends that do bartending as well as those that work at restaurants. I honestly feel you should tip if the service is satisfactory. Of course, if the service is completely whack, that's a different story.

If you order a 10 dollar drink at the club, you should at least tip 2 dollars. People fail to realize that bartenders make less than minimum wage. The bulk of the pay is based on the service. So if a bartender goes out their way, makes you excellent drinks, and gets you where you need to be..TIP! Plain and simple. If you go to a club or a bar, and don't want to tip for your drinks - then don't buy drinks! You might as well just ask for tap water all night long!

Honestly, even if the drinks are half off..I still pay the same kind of tip. I've noticed that in life, the more you give, the more you get. That's the honest truth. I remember I was tipping this one bartender really well and the cat was really happy and thanked me. I mean, he was makin the drinks just how i like them..smooth but strong! Can't go wrong! I mean, if someone was making my food, or drink...I'd tip them because you never know what might happen if you get that person again..hahahaha. Hear what Mr. Skyy John has to say!!

How to Make a Manhattan

So I'm in a more classic cocktail kinda mood, and I've come across the Manhattan. It's a real classy, old school cocktail. Apparently, there are a few recipes. I have the truncated but cooler version with the Tipsy Bartender. And I have the more in depth review from the Common Man Cocktails. I'll post them both up! Enjoy!

Oh yeah, Rachel makes a chocolate cake shot first:
-Chocolate Cake-
1/2 Frangelico
1/2 Lemon Vodka
Lemon Wedges
Sugar

-Manhattan-
1 1/2 oz. Whiskey
1/2 Sweet Vermouth
1 whole Maraschino Cherry

Common Man Cocktails version

2 1/2 oz. Bourbon
Rinse Sweet Vermouth
Dash of Angostura Bitters
Orange Twist
Maraschino cherry

How to make a Rum Cake - TipsyBartender

All islanders have their recipes when it comes to Rum Cake, but this is one of the most basic and efficient ways to really do it up. I can attest to that because at least once a year I have Rum Cake with this EXACT recipe and it's pretty dope! The great thing about it is that the base can be just about anything, but having a regular bunt or pound cake would work the best because you really want to get that rum flavor out! The longer you soak it, the more rum you'll taste! Here's the recipe:

1/3 cup Water
2/3 cup Sugar
1oz Butter
1 Cup Rum

The Red Skyy Competition 2010 - L. Valentin vs M. Canova

Man, I definitely have to look into some of this stuff. This is incredible stuff..mixing cocktails, tricks, and all that good stuff. It kinda reminds me deejaying in a way. Nice!

Record breaking cocktail genius!

Here's to taking a break from the norm today. I don't want this blog to be solely about cocktails, but bartending tricks and tips are always cool, too. At any rate, I stumbled upon this pretty cool video with some cats doing some really nice bartending tricks in record breaking times. You'll get everything from Chopping, flaring, back-bending cocktail flinging legends. Fire breathing sambuca kings. Check it out!!!

Hurricane - the old fashioned way

I'm starting to really appreciate rums especially the darker rums. Myers is a pretty quality dark Jamaican rum, and this drink definitely has a lot of it there!

The recipe goes as follows:
2oz Dark Rum
Fill with Passion Fruit Syrup
1/2oz Fresh Lime Juice

I went on the Torani website a bit earlier, and I found that it actually has a rather deep history stemming all the way from Lucca, Italy. Rinaldo and Ezilda Torre introduced Torani syrups to the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco in 1925. This is the original Hurricane drink, and you can actually purchase Torani at a select number of stores, or you can order it online!

Four Horsemen - TipsyBartender

Who's not ever drinking this??? ME!!! ME!!! ME!!! HAHAAHA! Jack or a Tequila alone will get you pretty dunzo, but four strong drinks together straight up no chaser? YOU CAN FORGET IT! Forget putting hair on your chest, you will become a WOLF with this drink!! LOL. In fact, Wolverine should be the only one drinking this because of his healing factor. LOL. Here's the recipe all thrown together:

Equal parts of:

Jack Daniels
Jim Beam
Johnnie Walker
Jameson Irish Whiskey

There are some other mixes out there, and you don't have to use Jameson but even Jose Cuervo Tequila! Talk about straight burn!

Sky Juice from the Bahamas via Tipsy Bartender

I have to say I def co-sign this mix as a fellow Bahamian! Coconut Water, Coconut Juice whatever is a real staple down in the Caribbean. It's a great mix used in a lot of different foods as well as drinks! Peep how he makes it:

1oz Gin
1/2oz Sweetened Condensed Milk
Top with Coconut Water

Elderflower Scrolls: Skyyrum (The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Cocktail)

Now, normally a game post would go on my Playstation 3 Game Console Blog, but seeing as this is a specific cocktail, it'll fit nicely right on here! The actual recipe comes from James Dance of Loading and the source of where I got the post from is The Drunken Moogle Tumblr Blog.

The ingredients goes as follows:

Skyy vanilla vodka
Sparkling elderflower presse
Spiced rum (Sailor Jerry)
Orange peel

Directions: “We’ve based this whole drink entirely around a series of highly amusing Skyrim puns – but luckily, it’s also delicious. First, create a sugared rim by dipping your high ball glass into the vanilla vodka, and then into a plate of sugar. Now put ice into the glass and pour in 175ml of the presse down the side (the inside, of course). Add a measure of spiced rum on top of that, and garnish with an orange peel dragon’s tongue.”

I'll post some more video game related cocktails! Pretty cool stuff! Definitely worthy to try!

How to Make Jolly Rancher Vodka

Now, of course I've seen the Skittles Vodka, but not so much the Jolly Rancher. Seems to be a slightly different process all together. Check it out:

What's shown in the video is simply to organize your Jolly Ranchers then put maybe 12 or however many will fit in your size bottle then fill the bottle up with Vodka.

Now, the great thing is you don't have to shake it, you don't have to filter for excess Jolly Ranchers as they COMPLETELY dissolve into the vodka unlike Skittles. After that, simply pour your drink. You can make mixes out of your Jolly Ranchers into a pretty cool party drink. Enjoy!

One of the CRAZIEST JUNGLE JUICE concoctions EVER!!! !

Wow, oh wow. Let me say the day for me started off this bottle here:

Senor Coconut Ciroc! A few shots of that....after that..chilled for a while then proceeded to the spot where the party was about to jump off. Fresh ingredients are always important! That turned into these:

The main alcoholic drinks were Everclear (Grain alcohol = super potent), Pinnacle (French Wheat Vodka 40%), Malibu Rum to soften it (21% Rum/Coconut Liqueur), and of course to top it off the Coconut Ciroc (Snap Frost Grape Vodka 40%) which we all took shots of before I poured all of it in!!! This mix is potent and not something Philadelphia catering companies would mix up if they were working at your party. Unless you asked them of course. Hell, it's your party!!

After all that was said and done, we went to the store right quick and picked up some pineapple juice, fruit punch soda, pineapple and orange fruit and some Pink Lemonade! You can't have a good Jungle Juice without the juices to mask the taste of all that high powered alcohol! LOL!

After that, we started to cut up the fruits to make those the first ingredient after we put in the ice and the alcohol.

Once that was said and done, we added in all the juices and drinks and what not. Then ended up with this pretty red concoction. We are definitely doing this again!! HAHAHA!
